Man killed in rollover crash on I-294 near Des Plaines identified by officials

DES PLAINES, Ill. (WLS) -- A person was killed in crash Wednesday evening on I-294 in the north suburbs.

A two-vehicle rollover crash happened around 4:01 p.m. on I-294 near Golf Road in Des Plaines, Illinois State Police said.

One person was killed in the crash, ISP said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the person who died as 69-year-old Eugene Robinson Jr. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The left three lanes of northbound I-294 were closed during the crash investigation officials said.

No further information was immediately available as police investigate.
