
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Four people were injured, including two Chicago police officers, after a squad car was rear-ended in Gage Park Thursday morning, police said.
The crash occurred at about 12:10 a.m. in the 2700-block of West 51st Street.
Police said the marked patrol car was rear-ended by a blue sedan traveling in the same direction, causing the patrol vehicle to spin into a semi-trailer.
One officer was injured in the head and in good condition and a second officer had facial injuries and was listed in fair condition, police said.
The 22-year-old driver was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital in serious condition and was taken into custody, police said. A man who was a passenger in the vehicle was injured in the abdomen and transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
The semi-truck driver was not injured, police said.
Police said DUI charges are pending.
