
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Eight students were hospitalized after one of their peers released pepper spray during a fight inside their South Side high school, Chicago police said.
Police said the fight broke out inside South Shore International College Prep at 1955 East 75th Street around noon.
The pepper spray impacted 10 students, eight of whom were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.
The Chicago Fire Department said five people refused treatment on the scene.
What led up to the altercation was not immediately clear.
Area Two detectives are investigating. Further information was not immediately available.
