The neighbor used a sledgehammer to bust down a door to save a woman who uses a wheelchair.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- A neighbor rescued a woman from her home while the garage outside went up in flames Wednesday in the north suburbs
The Arlington Heights Fire Department arrived around 10 a.m. to the 1100 block of North Dryden Avenue for a detached single-car garage that was engulfed in fire, officials said.
The fire was knocked out before it could spread to the house.
Before they arrived, a man escaped the home. However, the woman couldn't get out since she uses a wheelchair.
A neighbor busted down the door to the home with a sledgehammer and carried the woman out ABC7 was told.
The couple got checked out at the scene. One of them was taken to a hospital for additional treatment, officials said.
No further information about the fire was immediately available.
