Bald eagles spotted on icy lake in north suburbs, video shows

LAKE COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- A couple of bald eagles were caught on camera hanging out on an icy lake in the north suburbs.

Judd Hansen, a local photographer, said he took his drone out to Long Lake to film the first ice fishing of the year.

Instead, he captured the group of bald eagles appearing to enjoy a meal.

The lake is located between Round Lake and Fox Lake in Lake County, Illinois.

The bald eagle is a common winter resident in the state, according to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
