Investigators believe she may have been trying to travel to Chicago after leaving the outlet mall area.

Aurora police found her body about 7:35 p.m. Tuesday night in the area of North Farnsworth Avenue and Corporate Boulevard, which is near the outlet mall.

Murad's family also confirmed she died.

The Kane County Coroner officially identified the body Wednesday as Shafia Murad. Her cause and manner of death were not yet known.

Aurora police said officers had initially searched the outlet mall and surrounding area after Murad was reported missing. They also reviewed video that showed her traveling to the area of North Farnsworth and Corporate Boulevard.

The investigation remains ongoing.
