1 dead, 2 hospitalized after I-290 crash in Elmhurst: Illinois State Police

ELMHURST, Ill. (WLS) -- One person is dead and two others were hospitalized after a west suburban crash on Sunday, Illinois State Police said.

ISP said troopers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 290 at North Avenue in Elmhurst just after 2 p.m.

Three people were injured. They were taken to local hospitals, where one on of them died, ISP said.

All westbound lanes were shut down, with traffic being diverted off at Lake Street, but all lanes have since reopened.

The southbound Interstate 294 ramp to westbound I-290 was also shut down, but has since reopened.
