CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Bears have now lost 10 straight games. Calls are growing for the team's owners to step down.
A lot of Bears fans woke up unhappy Friday morning. By the end of Thursday night's game, there were chants from fans yelling "sell the team!"
Some fans said they need to turn those chants into action by boycotting the next game.
"Boycott this last game, don't watch the Bears game and send the McCaskeys a message, we're not going to put up with mediocre talent anymore," Strategic Search Corporation CEO Scott Sargis said.
Bears team owner George McCaskey is facing harsh critics after the team's 6-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks at home.
"He should be removed as chairman, he is a pathetic owner," ESPN 1000's David Kaplan said. "As the owner of my football team, he is the freakin' worst."
"Well they fired all the coaches, so what else can we do?" Bears fan Marion Howard said.
With the Bears' season coming to an end, fans say the rebuild surrounding Caleb Williams is going to take more than just new ownership.
"It's going to take a new coach, a new attitude of accountability, and certainly some some new players from the foundation on up," Bears fan Fred Mitchell said.
Quarterback Caleb Williams was sacked seven times in the teams tenth straight loss this season. It was a hard pill to swallow for lifelong Bears fan Eric Watson, who brought his family from Kentucky for the game.
"I believe Caleb is a good quarterback, I believe he can get us there," Watson said. "We got to get him more protection up front, more time in the pocket... We're six, three game fourth quarter, and it's still packed, and people are still got that little bit of hope that, you know, we're going to win."
Even with the loss, he says fans are still invested. But that hope is going to need a big boost heading into next year and perhaps the optimistic attitude of Bears fan Marion Howard.
"Just keep your head up, the Bears going to do it one day," Howard said. "Well they fired all the coaches, so what else can we do?"
The Bears will be hitting the road Sunday to Green Bay to play the Packers for the last game of their 2024-2025 season.
The defense delivered for the Bears Thursday against the Seahawks. It was one of the team's best performances of the season on that side of the ball. Just not good enough.
"I guess we should have held them to three points or zero points at the end of the day," safety Kevin Byard said.
Byard and Co. shut down Seattle on Thursday night, limiting Geno Smith and the Seahawks to 265 yards and Jason Myers' two field goals. But Chicago finished with just 179 yards of offense in a 6-3 loss.
The Bears (4-12) became the first NFL team to lose when allowing six points or fewer since the Raiders fell 3-0 loss to the Vikings on Dec. 10, 2023. It was the fourth time in the last 90 seasons that the franchise lost a game when allowing six points or fewer, joining a 6-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Oct. 24, 1999, a 6-3 loss to Denver on Dec. 5, 1971, and a 3-0 loss to the New York Giants on Nov. 17, 1935.
