Video shows car explosion amid alleged 'takeover' on Chicago's South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- An alleged "takeover" was filmed on Chicago's South Side over the weekend.

Video shows people ransacking and setting off an explosive inside a car in the Gresham neighborhood over the weekend.

Chicago police said they responded to a call on April 18 at 76th and Ashland, but no reports were filed.

Chicago police said they responded to a call on Sunday at about 3:31 a.m. 1600 block of W. 76th Street.

CPD said once officers arrived, the group dispersed.

The car, a dark-colored Infinity sedan, was left at the scene with fire damage, police said.
