Pedestrian hit, killed by SUV on Northwest Side: Chicago police

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A pedestrian was killed Tuesday night, after a car hit her on Chicago's Northwest Side, Chicago police said.

A 70-year-old man was driving west in a Chevrolet SUV in the 4000-block of West Foster Avenue about 6:15 p.m., when he hit a female pedestrian near the street, CPD said.

CPD could not confirm the pedestrian's age.

She was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where she later died, police said.

The Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the fatal crash.

CPD did not immediately provide any additional information.
