83-year-old seriously hurt in hit-and-run crash in Douglas, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are searching for the driver responsible of a hit-and-run crash that injured an 83-year-old man.

The crash happened on Thursday, July 24 at about 12:47 p.m. in the 3300-block of S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, police said.

The pedestrian, an 83-year-old man, was struck by a silver SUV that was heading southbound, police said.

Police said the pedestrian had severe injuries from the crash.

The driver did not stop to render aid, according to police.

Police said the suspect vehicle was possibly a Mercedes, BMW, or a Lexus. The vehicle may have front-end damage and a broken headlight.

Anyone with information is urged to call police.
