Burglar attempts to steal ATM from barber school on Northwest Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are looking for the person who smashed the glass door of a Northwest Side barber school and tried to steal an ATM.

The crime happened about 3:30 a.m. Saturday near West Diversey Avenue and North Kilpatrick Avenue at the Epic Academy Barber School in the Belmont Cragin area, Chicago police said.

The burglar broke into the business through the front glass door, CPD said.

The suspect was not able to remove an ATM from inside, and then fled the scene. No further information was available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
