Chicago police investigating several vehicle break-ins in Hyde Park

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Nearly 30 cars were broken into in one area on the city's South Side early Saturday.

Chicago police confirmed officers responded to the East Hyde Park area of the Hyde Park neighborhood.

There were at least 29 reports of criminal damage to vehicles in the area, Chicago police said.

The crimes happened around 4 a.m. Saturday in the 5500 block of South Shore Drive and the 1700 block of East 56th Street, CPD said.

No arrests have been made, officials said. The offenders were wearing dark-colored clothing.

Police did not provide any other details.
