Merle Yorkshire terrier named Blossom taken after slipping through fence, family says
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago family is celebrating a special reunion.
A service dog stolen from a little girl with autism was back home Friday.
Blossom was taken Sunday night after slipping out of the family's fence year near 76th and King Drive.
Just hours after ABC7 reporter Tre Ward's story about Blossom aired Thursday night, the family says a man who lives nearby recognized the pup and reached out.
They say he told them his young neighbor had Blossom and that he would help reunite them.
Blossom ended up being just a few minutes away.
When she finally came home, their daughter was so excited to see her.
The family says Blossom is now sporting a special harness and an Airtag to help keep her safe.
