Police release sketch of sexual assault suspect at Chicago's LaBagh Woods

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Detectives have released a new sketch of the suspect wanted in a sexual assault case in a heavily wooded area on Chicago's Northwest Side.

Forest Preserves of Cook County police said the attack happened Saturday at LaBagh Woods around 12:30 p.m.

A male of an unknown age allegedly assaulted a 29-year-old woman off-trail on the eastern side of the preserve, about 500 feet from the parking lot.

The woman was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital and has since been released.

The suspect is described as about 6 feet tall with a long brown and blond beard reaching his chest, police said. He was wearing a dark shirt, a black beanie, dark sunglasses, and a zip-up black jacket with a red stripe on the shoulder.

On Tuesday, police released a new sketch of the suspect.

Forest Preserves police, the Chicago Police Department, and Cook County sheriff's police have been canvassing the area as part of the investigation. Forest Preserves police have also increased car, ATV, and bicycle patrols in the area.

Police asked anyone with information to call 911. Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
