The crash happened at about 11:12 p.m. in the 6800-Block of South Pulaski Road, according to police.

Cesar Nieto said his uncle, Enrique Nieto, called him after he got a flat tire on Pulaski.

Surveillance video shows Enrique and his nephew changing the tire when police say an orange Honda SUV heading northbound hit Nieto and kept on driving.

"I was next to him. So I jumped out the way because I was closest to the back bumper and he was by the tire crouched down," Cesar said.

Cesar told ABC7 Enrique was trapped under the vehicle and was dragged several feet.

He tended to his uncle before an ambulance could get there.

"I was just trying to keep him breathing, talking to him," Cesar said.

Family identify the victim as 53-year-old Enrique Nieto.
