Man struck after falling on CTA Red Line tracks at Thorndale station, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man fell onto the tracks at a CTA station on the city's North Side on Monday, police said.

It happened at about 5:15 a.m. at the Red Line Thorndale station, according to Chicago police.

Police said the man accidentally fell onto the tracks, then he was struck by a train.

He was taken to an area hospital where police said he was stable and the extent of his injuries was unknown.
