Body found in Lake Michigan near South Shore, Chicago police say

CHIAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are conducting a death investigation after a male body was pulled from Lake Michigan Thursday on the city's South Side.

Chicago police said he was found in the water near the 7000 block of S. South Shore Drive around 2:48 p.m.

His identity has not yet been released.

A large police response could be seen near the shoreline.

No further information was available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
