CHICAGO (WLS) -- Inner city-youth learned figure skating and hockey on Sunday, with coaching from ABC7 Meteorologist Greg Dutra.
About a dozen kids and adults hit the ice at Millennium Park in downtown Chicago.
The program is aimed at opening the rink to young people who might not otherwise get the chance.
"Hockey in the inner city is almost non-existent," said Ray Lilja with the Chicago Youth Foundation. "With the help of the city of Chicago and the Blackhawks, putting on programs like this, the inner-city kids have an opportunity completely for free to learn how to skate and then choose between figure skating and hockey."

After the training session, Dutra and the coaches even jumped into a friendly hockey game.
