1-year-old child shot, critically injured in South Shore, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 1-year-old child was shot in the leg Saturday on the city's South Side.

The shooting happened around in the 7700 block of South Yates Boulevard, Chicago police said.

A boy, 1, was shot in the right leg and was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

No further information on the circumstances of the shooting was immediately available.

There was not information on a possible offender, and no one is in custody, CPD said.
