2 shot, 1 fatally, on South Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting on the South Side Sunday night, Chicago police said.

The shooting took place at about 9:42 p.m. in the 8000-block of South Ingleside Avenue.

Police said officers arrived at the scene and found two men with gunshot wounds.

One man, 25-35 years old, was wounded in the torso and transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The second man, 30-35 years old, was wounded to the head and transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

No one is in custody and Area Two detectives are investigating.
