Man shot to death in Chatham home, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man died after he was shot inside of a home Friday evening on the city's South Side.

The shooting happened around 5:40 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Eberhart Avenue in Chatham, Chicago police said.

The victim, a 53-year-old man, was shot multiple times while he was inside residence, police said.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and he was later pronounced dead, CPD said.

His identity has not yet been released.
