74-year-old man fatally shot inside home in Auburn Gresham, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was fatally shot inside of a home Friday afternoon on the city's South Side.

The shooting happened around 1:29 p.m. in the 8100 block of South Laflin Street in Auburn Gresham, Chicago police said.

The victim, a 74-year-old man, was inside of a home when he was shot twice, police said.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His name has yet been released.

No further information about the circumstances of the shooting was available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
