CHICAGO (WLS) -- Officials have identified the two men who were shot and killed during a jewelry store robbery in Little Village.
The crime happened around 5:49 p.m. Saturday at a jewelry store in the 3800-block of 26th Street, Chicago police said.
An armed suspect entered a business at the location, pretending to be a customer and stole property, police and neighboring businesses said.
After the suspect exited the business, he was in an altercation with two victims. The suspect shot the two men multiple times and drove south on Springfield Avenue in a white SUV, CPD said.
Both victims died at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
On Monday, they were identified as Faustino Alamo Dominguez, 63, and Luis Alamo, 25, of Berwyn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: 2 men shot, killed during Little Village jewelry store armed robbery, police say
They were father and son, and they were trying to protect their store.
Surveillance video shows a man in a Blackhawks hoodie and mask walking up to the jewelry store. Within about 30 seconds, the suspect ran outside with some merchandise from the store as two men chased after him. That's when you see the suspect pull out his gun and shoot both victims.
ABC7 Chicago froze the video there before the shots were fired.
Local business owners said the people responsible for the shooting drove around scoping out the area, going in and out of businesses before walking into the store.
The business owner next-door is doing his part to help take care of the Joyeria Angelos, a jewelry store built on a dream for more.
"People that came from Mexico, started a business here in Little Village, and all they wanted was to reach that American dream," Little Village Community Council President Baltazar Enriquez said.
Flowers and candles are now at the store's front door
Enriquez said the community is in shock.
Cook County Crime Stoppers on Sunday offered a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest in the double homicide.
Enriquez is also offering $20,000.
"There's tons of businesses down here, and they never seen anything like this," Enriquez said.
"All Hell broke loose in our neighborhood," 22nd Ward Alderman Michael Rodriguez said. "Tragic loss that didn't have to happen, just didn't have to happen, and it's terrible."
Rodriguez says the shooting happened at the same time U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were detaining people in the neighborhood. The chaos has added to the tragedy as a family tries to find a way to move forward.
"We hope that we could help them go through this ordeal. But it's not easy to bury two loved ones at the same time," Enriquez said.
No arrests have been made as Chicago police continue to investigate.
