On Monday, police were responding to a domestic incident in the Albany Park neighborhood at Springfield and Leland avenues.

Police said a 67-year-old woman was shot multiple times and was hospitalized in critical condition.

Authorities said Aguirre held two other people at gunpoint and shot a SWAT officer in the lower abdomen. The officer was expected to make a full recovery.

Police said the women were "battered" when they were eventually released. Both were taken to Stroger hospital and are expected to be OK.

Aguirre is expected to be in court Wednesday.
