Man dies after being shot inside home in Chatham, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man died after being shot inside of a home Friday evening on the city's South Side.

The shooting happened around 5:03 p.m. in the 0-100 block of East 89th Street in Chatham, Chicago police said.

The victim, a male whose exact age was not yet known, was inside of a home when he was shot multiple times, CPD said.

He was taken to a hospital, where police initially reported him to be in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.

A person of interest was brought in for questioning, police said.

No charges have been filed and no further information was available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
