Man driving in car critically wounded in West Englewood, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 54-year-old man was critically wounded in a drive-by shooting in West Englewood Friday morning, Chicago police said.

The shooting took place at about 4:45 a.m. in the 7100-block of South Ashland Avenue.

Police said the victim was inside a vehicle when a dark-colored SUV stopped nearby and someone inside fired in the victim's direction.

The victim was shot several times and transported to Advocate Christ Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
