Teen shot, critically wounded on West Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 17-year-old boy was critically wounded in a shooting on the West Side Wednesday morning, Chicago police said.

The shooting took place at about 12:35 a.m. in the 5400-block of West End Avenue.

Police said officers arrived at an apartment building and found the victim on a bed with gunshot wounds to the chest and back. He was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
