CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Lakeview favorite is marking National Guacamole Day with fresh flavors and family tradition.
Cesar's Killer Margaritas has been serving up bold dishes and signature drinks for more than two decades. Owner Israel Sanchez and Chef Lourdes "Lulu" Duran say the secret to great guacamole starts with picking the right avocado and avoiding common mistakes like over-mashing or adding too much lime.
The restaurant, which turns 23 in October, traces its roots back to family recipes passed down for generations. The menu features Mexican classics such as enchiladas, chile rellenos and steak fajitas, alongside its well-known margaritas.
Sanchez and Duran shared tips for at-home cooks, from how to elevate guacamole beyond the basics to creative drink pairings.
