
ITASCA, Ill. (WLS) -- Three people were killed, including a child, in a fiery one-car crash Wednesday night on I-290, Illinois State Police said.
Police said the crash occurred at 11:40 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-290 to I-355.
Police said the driver went off the roadway and into a bridge support, causing the car to burst into flames. Two adults and a child in the car were killed.
All westbound traffic was being diverted off at Route 83. Lanes were reopened at around 4:30 a.m.
