Chlorine leak reported at Darien water tower

DARIEN, Ill. (WLS) -- A chlorine leak in Darien at the Plainfield Road and Cass Avenue water tower.

The water plant operators for the city responded and determined that the leak should be handled by the fire department-hazardous material team. There were evacuations of the adjacent businesses.

There is no threat to the water system.

So far there are no reports of any injuries.
