
GRIFFITH, Ind. (WLS) -- Northwest Indiana police arrested a man for allegedly stealing ice cream from delivery trucks over several weeks.
The Griffith Police Department said Christopher Stewart, arrested on Friday, allegedly stole 258 cases of ice cream valued at $6,200 in December.
Police say surveillance footage and vehicle records linked Stewart to the theft, and he admitted to taking ice cream and selling it.
Stewart has been charged with theft greater than $750, theft with prior conviction, and failure of duty.
He was and transported to Lake County Jail.
