On April 12, 1995 19-year-old Michael Fields and his brother, 22-year-old John Fields were found dead with multiple gunshot wounds, Cicero police said.

Nearly thirty years later, Daniel Flores, 49, was arrested in Celaya, Mexico in 2023. He was extradited to the U.S. last year.

Cicero police believe there was some kind of altercation between Flores and the two brothers before the shooting took place.

Flores pleaded guilty on Wednesday to two amended counts of second-degree murder.

He was sentenced to two eight-year prison terms, to be served consecutively, the Cook County State's Attorney's Office said.
