
DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. (WLS) -- An Indiana police officer was killed while helping a stranded driver Wednesday morning.
The crash happened on Interstate 69 in Delaware County, outside Indianapolis.
The sheriff's office said Delaware County sheriff's Cpl. Blake Reynolds was helping the driver of a broken-down semi when his patrol car was hit by another semi.

Reynolds was outside his car and was hit during the crash.
Indiana State Police are investigating the incident.
Reynolds was a four-year veteran of the sheriff's office. Before starting at the sheriff's office, he served in the Army National Guard, local officials said.
He was also recently married, the sheriff's office said.
