Person in custody after deadly shooting in Dolton, police say

DOLTON, Ill. (WLS) -- A person is in custody in connection with a deadly south suburban shooting, police said on Friday.

Dolton police said the shooting happened in the 14100-block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on Thursday night. At least one person was killed.

What led up to the shooting was not immediately clear, and the victim's identity was not immediately released.

Police said the investigation is active and ongoing.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
