Driver in custody after crashing into CTA bus, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was arrested after crashing into a CTA bus on Chicago's South Side, police said.

The crash happened just after midnight Monday in the 6300-Block of South Yale Avenue, police said.

A 34-year-old man was driving a black car eastbound on 63rd Street when he allegedly crashed into a CTA bus that was stopped at the intersection, police said.

The driver of the CTA bus was the only person onboard at the time and there were no injuries reported.

CPD said the driver did not have any major injuries.

He was given two citations and placed into custody.

Chicago police said charges were pending.
