Elgin police ask residents to avoid part of downtown

ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- Elgin police asked residents to avoid part of their downtown area as they work to located someone who went into the Fox River Friday.

Police posted on Facebook about 11:30 a.m. about the police response.

Chopper 7 was over the scene about noon.

Emergency vehicles could be seen, as well as a boat in the Fox River, near the Grand Victoria Casino, located at 250 S. Grove Ave.
