CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago police sergeant is facing federal fraud charges tied to COVID relief loans.
Prosecutors said Brandi Wright, 44, allegedly obtained more than $41,000 in pandemic small business loans as part of the Paycheck Protection program for a bakery that did not exist.
She is charged with wire fraud and court records said the money was intended for personal use.
Prosecutors said the charges are punishable by up to 20 years in federal prison. An arraignment has not yet been scheduled.
