Female pedestrian struck, killed in Downers Grove, police say

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- A female pedestrian was killed after being struck in Downers Grove Monday night, police said.

The incident occurred at about 9:40 p.m. in the 2300-block of Ogden Avenue.

Police said the pedestrian was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle going eastbound on Ogden Avenue.

The victim was transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
