Teacher at Chicago, suburban Catholic schools recently fired over history of child molestation allegations: Archdiocese of Chicago

EVERGREEN PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A man working as a private tutor in the south suburbs has been arrested and charged with felony criminal sexual abuse and battery.
He worked as a substitute teacher at local Catholic schools and was recently fired, the Chicago Archdiocese said.
Orland Park police say 43-year-old Brett Smith engaged in sexual contact with a juvenile.
Smith was expected to make an initial court appearance Friday in Bridgeview.
In a letter to school parents, the Chicago Archdiocese says they fired Smith as a substitute teacher after learning of a history of sexual misconduct allegations.
