Video shows 23-car train derailment in Texas

ROSENBERG, Texas -- A train hauling 23 cars derailed in a Houston suburb on Wednesday, the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal's Office said.

According to officials, the derailment happened along Highway 90 near OakBend Hospital, within the city limits of Richmond and Rosenberg.

The derailment caused headaches for drivers as all the crossings in the city of Richmond were blocked.

"Richmond officers are directing traffic at the emergency underpass at 2nd Street in both directions. Please plan accordingly," Richmond PD said.

As crews work to clear the area, drivers are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

It was not immediately clear if any injuries were reported.
