Freight train derails on South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A train derailed Friday afternoon on the city's South Side.

Chopper 7 is over the scene near 99th Street and Marquette Avenue.

The derailed train appeared to be a freight train.

The derailment did not appear to impact any Metra service.

ABC7 has reached out to authorities for more information on if there were any injuries or potential dangers near the scene of the derailment.
