
VILLA PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- This week, we feature Willowbrook High School on ABC7's Friday Flyover, celebrating high school sports!
Willowbrook High School opened in the fall of 1959 to an enrollment of approximately 2,500 students. Enrollment has fluctuated over the years from 3,000 to 1,800 with the current enrollment at 1,906 students. As a four-year comprehensive high school, Willowbrook offers academic, vocational, gifted, and special education programs. Willowbrook's individual cost per pupil is approximately $22,000 and is fully accredited by the State of Illinois Board of Education.
Students from the Willowbrook class of 2025 attend colleges and universities in 22 states and Mexico. In total, they were accepted to 300 colleges and universities. Students attend Ivy League schools, military academies and more. www.dupage88.net/WBClassof2025Schools


During the 2024-25 school year, students earned 5,612 college credits through College Board's Advanced Placement (AP), Project Lead The Way, College of DuPage, Technology Center of DuPage, Elmhurst University and Dominican University. These courses allow students to earn college credit while in high school, saving them an estimated $2.6+ million in 2024-25. In addition, during the 2024-25 school year, students earned 1,693 career certifications.
In 2025, Willowbrook received a very positive ranking from GreatSchools and is considered to be "performing above average compared to public and charter schools in Illinois with the same grade levels." According to www.greatschools.org, Willowbrook earned a College Readiness Rating of 9/10 and outperforms 86% of similar schools in Illinois. Willowbrook has earned high National and metro-area rankings in the 2025-26 Best High Schools category and has achieved status as U.S. News Best High School.
