VERNON HILLS, Ill. (WLS) -- A $100,000 heist led to a high-speed minivan chase though the north suburbs and Chicago on Thursday.
Video shows the van zip past other drivers on the Kennedy Expressway near Division Avenue.
Vernon Hills police said they responded to a call at 1 a.m. to the CDW complex in the 200-block of North Milwaukee Avenue.
A group of masked suspects were taking cargo from a parked trailer, police said.
When the driver confronted them, police said the suspects battered him and threatened him with a firearm.
The suspects then fled the scene in three separate vehicles eastbound on Interstate 94 near Townline Road.
Shortly after, Glencoe police tried to stop a gray Chrysler Pacifica speeding on I-94.
Video shows the going over 100 miles per hour on the highway.
The driver then crashed in the 5400-block of South Wells Street in Chicago.
Police said the driver was taken into custody, while the passenger got away.
The other vehicles were not located.
Video from the scene shows multiple packages and boxes inside the minivan.
The preliminary value of items stolen is over $100,000, Vernon Hills police said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
