Gold coin dropped in Salvation Army kettle in Round Lake

ROUND LAKE, Ill. (WLS) -- A generous tradition returned Wednesday as the Salvation Army discovered the first gold coin of this holiday season.

Someone dropped the 1 oz. gold coin into a red kettle outside a Walmart store in Round Lake over the Thanksgiving weekend. It's valued at about $1,200.
