
DOLTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Two students were arrested after a weapon was found Thursday morning at a high school in the south suburbs.
The incident happened around 11:20 a.m. at Thornridge High School, officials said.
School administration was notified a weapon magazine was seen in the gym area of the school, officials said. The School Resource Officer contacted Dolton police, who responded and found a weapon during a search of the building.
Two students have been arrested in connection to the incident and are in the custody of Dolton police, Thornton Township High School District 205 officials said. No further information about the students was immediately available.
Thornridge High School was placed on lockdown during the investigation.
No charges have been announced as Dolton police continue to investigate.
