
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A hit-and-run driver struck and critically injured a pedestrian on the city's West Side early Sunday morning, Chicago police said.
Police said the crash happened in the University Village neighborhood's 1300-block of South Halsted Street around 12:30 a.m.
The driver of a Chevy struck a 21-year-old man and an unoccupied, parked vehicle before fleeing the scene, police said.
The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
There is no one in custody, and CPD's Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the crash.
