SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- The Illinois Secretary of State's Office Monday released its annual list of rejected vanity license plates.
Out of nearly 56,000 requests, more than 550 were denied for being offensive, inappropriate or too hard to read.
Some were flagged for crude language, others for confusing letter combinations. All were rejected under state law.
"Illinoisans consistently show off their creativity on customized license plates, but anything that hits the road has to meet the standards of good taste and decency," Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias said. "Our team is fluent in lewd lingo and sneaky swearing - and they catch it all. When a plate crosses the line, it goes straight onto our permanent rejection list."
A few from the list included BRICKED, BBL and IBPOOPN.
Giannoulias shared more in a video posted to his office's YouTube channel.
