Man charged with hate crime for graffiti on police station, businesses

CAROL STREAM, Ill. (WLS) -- A west suburban man is facing hate crime charges for allegedly spray-painting graffiti on a police station and two businesses, the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office said.

A Carol Stream police officer said he witnessed 30-year-old Joshua Sanchez spray-painting profanity against Israel and President Donald Trump on the side of the police station on Wednesday night.

Sanchez is also accused of tagging Chrissy's Gaming Bar & Grill and a 7-Eleven store.

Sanchez is charged with two counts of Hate Crime, one count of Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property, two counts of Misdemeanor Criminal Defacement of Property and one count of Misdemeanor Weapons Possession.
