'Little Palestine Way' sign installed on Bridgeview street after delay

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (WLS) -- A sign declaring a stretch of Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview to be "Little Palestine Way" has been installed.

There has been some controversy around the renaming.

IDOT had postponed the ceremony at the last minute. Some who helped organize the event blamed politics for the delay.

So, community members decided to take matters into their own hands and went ahead with the renaming.

A separate sign honors 6-year-old Wadea Al-Fayoume. The Muslim boy was killed by his family's landlord in suburban Plainfield.
